A Zest for Rescue: Why Our Co-Founder Shows Up for Dogs Who Need a Second Chance

At Timeshare Counsel, our work is about helping people out of timeshare contracts that no longer serve them. But outside the office, our Co-Founder, Chris Scott-Dixon, has a different kind of advocacy he’s been quietly showing up for: dog rescue.

Chris recently attended “A Zest for Rescue,” an Italian benefit dinner held at Castle Peak Farm in Jamul, California, on July 25, 2025. The evening supportedĀ Roadogs Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehabbing medical bulldogs and puppies born with birth defects. Roadogs calls the dogs in their care “Lovable Lemons,” a nod to the idea that a dog born differently isn’t a dog born less deserving of love.

A mission worth showing up for

Bulldogs and puppies with congenital conditions are often the hardest animals to place. Many are surrendered or left at veterinary clinics simply because their care is more complicated than a typical rescue can take on. Organizations like Roadogs step in where few others will, providing the medical treatment, therapy, and patient matchmaking it takes to get these dogs into homes built for them. It’s a mission Chris strongly believes in.
